Summer...do you appreciate it?
When was the last time you planned a picnic? I haven't done it in a long time. But then, a really cool picnic basket came my way (which included a DVD player, a wine cooler, cool decorated plates and utensils), and now I can't wait for my next foray into nature.
That said, I'm not an ant, wasp, mosquito, bee, dragonfly or fly person in
general (well butterflies don't bother me) and I worry about it being too
hot--but if I have to pick a month, it's July. And obviously, I'm not the only
one who feels this way or the powers that be would have never made July National
Picnic Month. I'm a wimp, August is too hot and June is a little squirrly
weather-wise... sometimes hot and sometimes cold ... depending on where you
live. July is also National Hot Dog Month, National Baked Bean Month (check out how to gussy up your canned beans!), National
Ice Cream Month and National Blueberry Month (calls for blueberry pie a la mode,
no?) so my menu and yours is conveniently planned and inexpensive to boot.
However you celebrate this summer, I wish you loads of wonderful parties!
