Healthy Solon

Grow Green!  What a perfect theme for Healthy Solon in celebration of earth day.  We are coordinating Healthy Solon, a fun and interactive community health festival for the 4th year in a row.  It will take place at the Solon Community Center and we expect the best turnout yet!  Participants will be entertained, get healthy tastes from local restaurants, free healthy heart screenings and fun fitness activities.  We have over 70 local vendors all excited to reach the community.

Just imagine… Healthy Solon began with the simple idea that we would call together the residents of the community and try to make them healthier.  Solon has certainly responded!

Healthy Maumee

 

Can you say Healthy?  Well, in Maumee, Ohio they can.  We here at Party411.com have the fortune of planning the second annual Healthy Maumee Health Festival this weekend that is sure to be a big hit for the community!  We have over 40 vendors that will take over the high school with free healthy heart screenings.  Healthy Maumee has already had extensive positive press, and we’re excited for a great day of family fun and health!

This year we’ve added more entertainment this year (airbrush tattoos, carnival games, face painting, strolling entertainment, a family obstacle course), and we’re sure everyone will have a wonderful and healthy time. Last year we had a turnout of over 800 from the community and expect an even better turnout! And we hope to see you there!

Single in the City

Need something to do prior to Valentine’s Day? Want to help a good cause? Live in the greater Cleveland area?  I’m talking about the Easter Seals “Single in the City” Bachelor & Bachelorette Auction.

We at Party411 were involved in this event last year and it was a success.  This year should be just as successful, and we wanted to let you all know about it.

One Million Acts of Kindness

We here at Party411.com often get many questions regarding invitation etiquette. Many times the questions regard people not wanting gifts at their party.

ISCD Texas Hold'Em Tournament

 

 

Here’s a great event being held in Cleveland on Thursday, November 19.  A Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament is being held to raise money for the Israel Sports Center for the Disabled (ISCD) at Signature of Solon.  Top prize is $3000.  Not bad!

 

The ISCD is a center in Israel that provides physical and physiological rehabilitation for Israeli children and youth through aquatic and wheelchair sports.

Single in the City Bachelor and Bachelorette Auction

Party411.com recently participated as a sponsor for a Bachelor and Bachelorette Auction to benefit Easter Seals.

Easter Seals has been helping individuals with disabilities and special needs, and their families, live better lives for more than 80 years. Whether helping someone improve physical mobility, return to work or simply gain greater independence for everyday living, Easter Seals offers a variety of services to help people with disabilities address life's challenges and achieve personal goals.

We were very excited to help out such a great cause, plus, it is a party, and you know how we love a good party! We donated an 8'x8' back drop, 500 candy bar party favors, and 20 centerpieces with balloons to make the "Single in the City" theme really pop!

The turnout for the event was great, and with over 30 Bachelor and Bachelorettes on the auction block, the bidding was fierce! But Easter Seals and the people they serve are the real winners!

A Benefit for Flashes of Hope

So I went to this fabulous benefit last Thursday night, and I was so impressed with what little they spent on such a fantastic event.  In this day and age of little money and cutbacks on donations, it was refreshing to see most of the funds raised going to the organization and not the vendors (one of which could be Party411). 

There were few tables, mostly hightops, and the centerpieces were colored ping pong balls (or something similar) in a glass cylinder with LED lights thrown in.  A circle shape on a dowel rod was inserted and the name of the event was on this signage.  No expensive florals or linens.  The menu consisted of anywhere from fancy to fun heavy hors d’oeuvres and some delectable desserts on a help yourself buffet (less labor you know!).  And the bars included a self-serve table covered with sugar-rimmed martinis (I think, I didn’t have one) with an LED ice cube in cool blue.  I don’t know if they tasted good but it was a fabulous display for little cost.

In case you are wondering, Flashes of Hope is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating powerful, uplifting portraits of children fighting cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. The portraits, taken by award-winning photographers, help children feel better about their changing appearance by celebrating it. For families of terminally ill children, it's especially important to have a portrait that preserves forever the beauty, grace and dignity of their child.
