With February around the corner, everyone is looking forward to one of the largest sporting events of the year: the Super Bowl. This year’s game stands out in that it is the first ever cold weather Super Bowl.
So, to commemorate this special event, make sure your party stands out with these easy to make (and cheap!) football candy favors. Whether you scatter them on coffee and end tables, toss them in goodie bags for the kiddos, or put them in a bowl for guests to pick up on the way out, family and friends will enjoy the themed treats inside! After trying these simple favors, make sure to check out our other Super Bowl Party Ideas, too!
Materials (makes eight favors)
- 2 sheets brown craft paper (12”x12”)
- Brown thread
- Sewing machine
- White poster paint
- Paint brush
- Small, individually wrapped candies
Directions
- Trace a football shape (about 3”x 2”) onto heavy weight brown cardstock. I was able to fit eight onto each of my two sheets, which means I had enough shapes to make eight favors.
- Put two football shapes together (wrong sides facing each other), and use a sewing machine to attach the two with a straight stitch down one side of the football. (Make sure to use matching brown thread!)
- Fill the football pocket with 1-2 pieces of candy depending on the size, and sew the pocket shut. Trim any extra thread from the favor.
- Paint laces on one side of the football with white poster paint and allow to dry for 15-20 minutes.
