Ok, I admit it. My kids really, really like Yo Gabba Gabba. It’s based on 5 crazy looking monsters who live inside a DJ’s boom box. (The DJ, of course, wears a neon orange jump suit and fur hat.) It’s bizarre to say the least. I don’t totally get the show, but the music these crazy guys sing is pretty snappy and the “Just Try It…You’ll Like It” song has been very helpful getting my kids to try new food.
Apparently my kids aren’t the only ones who like the show, because there is a ton of Yo Gabba Gabba party supplies available based on the show. I think the favors are great. Here are my favorites:
- Yo Gabba Gabba whistles – hear the fun!
- Brobee cups – these are my favorite. They would be great at each place
- DJ Lance glasses – hilarious
You could give these as party favors as your guests leave or you could have games and give them as prizes. Some games we like include:
- Dancey Dance Time—let everybody let off some steam with their own made up dance moves.
- Cool Tricks—showing off a special talent.
- Knock-Knock Joke of the Day—give each child a knock-knock joke on a card to try out on their friends. Makes for great video, no?
- Storytime—let one or more of your guests narrate a story. Or make one up as they go!
- Learn with Plex—take the Plex stand-up and with a little help from an elder, teach the kids some new skill.
We’ve got a great Yo Gabba Gabba theme party on Party411 complete with invitation ideas, decorating tips, party favors and menu ideas. Enjoy!
We’ll see if it’s still as hot with my 3 year old when he turns 4, because, if it is, Yo Gabba Gabba just might be our next theme. I’ll keep you posted!
