Where does the time go? My son is graduating and I can’t believe it’s time already. Ok, fine. He’s graduating from preschool, but it’s still amazing to me that my son will be in kindergarten. And since I’m a party planner and a mom, this seems to be a great reason for a celebration in his honor. So, I’m going to have a small preschool graduation party for our family in honor of my son!
On the last day of school, the preschool classes have a special ceremony. No caps and gowns, just a nice ceremony with all the kids and their families. Camera, get your battery charged! I’ll be there with bells on to take lots of pictures and figure out (again) how my child is old enough to be in kindergarten.
Following the ceremony, we’ll have lunch for the family at our home for our graduation celebration. Since this is taking place over Memorial Day, we’re going to go patriotic with our theme! Here are a few of the plans:
- Paper goods – patriotic paper goods are perfect for the theme and easy for clean up.
- American Flag Centerpiece – cute and inexpensive. (It’s just family, so we’ll only need 2!)
- Deli for lunch, patriotic cupcakes for dessert and personalized lollipops to send home with the family.
- Patriotic star swirls – we won’t need much for decorations. I think these fun ceiling dangles will be perfect and will add just enough to add to the celebration.
So, that’s the plan! A fun, simple lunch to celebrate my special guy’s big day! Anyone else out there celebrating a kid’s graduation? Let me know your plans!
Happy graduation,
Sam’s Mom
