Wrestlemania 27 is on April 3rd this year in Atlanta. I have to say, I’m super excited for it this year. A Wrestling Theme Party is turning into a bit of an annual tradition, and I wanted to share a few tips to help make your Wrestlemania a smashing hit.
Venue: If you can make it to Atlanta and get a good seat, I say go for it. Why not? Of course if you don’t live near Atlanta invite people over to your place. With a big screen TV and HD it’s almost like you’re there. (Since it’s a Pay Per View, you can ask guests to help chip in; just make sure you do it before they walk into the door.)
Entertainment: Like the SuperBowl this event is based on watching a TV for four hours. (It’s four hours this year, I’m hoping for the best.) This Wrestlemania has a different feel to it because a lot of the older guys are coming back; such as The Rock, HHH, Stone Cold and possibly a surprise guest or two. I plan on inviting people over early to warm up with an old wrestling DVD or two.
Because this event is similar to the Super Bowl I’m going to do a pool. You can’t pick the scores, but you can pick the winners. This will keep interest up for those that don’t follow the sport as much as I do.
Food: This event is really based on sitting and watching a TV and cheering for a match that’s outcome has been decided for two months now. (I don’t care; it’s still real to me.) This is why you need to have finger food named after the athletes participating this year.
- Rattlesnake Beer – If Stone Cold can drink Keystone then it’s good enough for me, I’m just going to call it something different for one day.
- Undertaker’s Dark Dreams – He’s undefeated at Wrestlemania, and leaves his opponents knocked out. So why not serve some cookies to brighten the mood?
- Rock Bottom Dip – A classic dip recipe that’s a sure fire knockout.
- Snooki Specialty – Somehow Snooki is involved this year, celebrate(?) with fist pumping and pizza.
- The Big Show – I’m bringing back the winners of last year and serving pigs in a blanket again this year.
This is just a guide on your road to Wrestlemania 27, name the food after your favorite wrestler or move. The more fun you put into your party the more fun your guests will get out of it. So leeeeeeeeeeeeet’s get reeeeeeeeeady to party!
