If it were up to me, I would use the Pillsbury Doughboy™ to quarterback my Super Bowl Party. I love every dough product Pillsbury makes. The biscuits, the crescent rolls, the pizza dough, the breads. I mean, truthfully, tell me one thing you can’t wrap with something Pillsbury. It’s a plethora of carbohydrates in every form you can imagine.
That said, with a Super Bowl party to plan and guests to impress, I’m thinking I should get a little more creative. So here’s my plan.
I’m going to start with a make-your-own-crescent bar set up for my guests just inside the den. Crescent rolls—the innards of which you can choose from a dozen bowls of tasty stuff—they can throw in my oven at will. I’m salivating at the thought. Let’s see…peanut butter and jelly; shredded cheese and ham; chocolate and peanut butter chips; guacamole with peppers; mushrooms, butter and cream; blue cheese and bacon; chopped tomatoes, peppers, onion and sausage…shall I go on? I’m going to be the Super Bowl Party Chef of the Century.
Then, I’m going to have a build-your-own-sandwich bar. I’m going to put out those fabulous Grand buttermilk biscuits, all brown and crusty, and tons of stuff to go between them once you sliced them in half: tenderloin (from Costco), honey baked ham, pastrami, a selection of cheeses, a selection of salads from lobster and crab to tuna and chicken and more.
Finally, I’m putting out Pillsbury’s warm-from-the-oven breadsticks with every kind of dip under the sun. From marinara to artichoke to 4-layer dips and even beer dip (2 packages cream cheese [8 oz.] softened, 1 package Hidden Valley Ranch Party Dip or dressing mix, 1 package fancy shredded Cheddar cheese and beer to taste)—there will something for everyone.
I’m hoping this menu at my Super Bowl party will mean that there won’t be time for a Super Bowl pool, Super Bowl trivia, Super Bowl reminiscing about who won what and when and I can finally enjoy myself just watching the commercials and feeding my face!
Have fun and enjoy your food.
