Halloween costumes are always a lot of fun – I love to get creative and come up with crazy new costumes every year. Here’s a few of my favorites!
Lite Brite: This year I hosted a ‘Childhood Toys & Games’ Halloween party, where I came as a Lite Brite! I made this costume with some battery operated Christmas lights, and poked a bunch of holes in the lid to a cardboard box. I also accessorized with some 80’s clothes and colors!
Pac-Man Game Board: Made with an all black t-shirt and pants outfit, some yarn for the board, small rhinestones for the pac-dots and felt for the pacman and enemy ghost pieces, this one takes a hot glue gun and lot of patience!
Pong: The Atari version – wear all black and with white masking tape create the centerline and a square pong, on the back of your forearms put a line of wide masking tape on each for the pong paddles.
Oscar the Grouch: From your local home improvement store, pick up a garbage can and cut out the bottom, attach some string to the handles – just like suspenders to hold the can up and wear the lid of the garbage can as a hat! Just add a green t-shirt and some face paint for final touches!
The Main Course: Drape a plastic table cover over the top of a box and cut out a circle in the middle of the box and table cover, big enough to fit your head through. Add some garland decorations to wrap around the hole, glue down some paper plates, and cups. Stick your head through the hole and finish it off with an apple in your mouth!
A Shadow: This ones easy! Just wear all black, don’t forget the gloves and face paint! Then just hide behind people and mimic their movements!
80s Madonna: A thrift store favorite! At your local thrift store pick up an old wedding or prom dress. I rolled and pinned the floor length dress up so that it was short and poufy, then just accessories with some black bracelets, necklaces, earrings, and teased out hair. Leggings and a leather jacket fit the outfit too!
