Last April Fool’s Kathleen got Amy pretty good. Watch this video if you don’t remember, or if you do remember and want to watch the details again. Amy must have been plotting for some time because she came to me on March 1st and said, “Want to help me get Kathleen this year?” Obviously I said yes, but we had to make it a success.
Guidelines we followed to make the prank a success.
1. No verbal discussion of the prank planning process. We both work on laptops so we simply emailed each other. Not a chance anyone could overhear us and spread the word.
2. Downplay the day. Amy and I both confessed that we had no plans to do anything. I kept saying I wouldn’t even be in the office so why would I perform a prank that I wouldn’t even witness? You can even act like you are above the pranks themselves.
3. Show disinterest in other pranks. Kathleen wanted to and successfully pranked Roz. She asked both Amy and me to stay late and be involved. We sighed and said we could stay only a little after work. Even if the prank is great act like it would be a big hassle for you to be involved.
4.Commitment to the Prank. This can’t be understated. Who wants to come back to work, after hours? People committed to pranking another co-worker.
I’m not going to lie but Kathleen did a great job getting Roz, but we did an even better job. Watch the video of her first hand account of her first viewing of the room, along with her prank of Roz. Amy and I did a good job. Here are photos from our late night set up. From all us here at Party411.com we hope you had an enjoyable April Fool’s Day.
